Who Should attend a First Aid Course?

• Employers have certain legal duties with regards to ensuring there is a suitable first aid provision in place for employees.

• People who volunteer with the public.

• People who would like to learn First Aid skills so they can help their friends and family and the wider public when they are out and about.

The Government Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have a tool on their website to help assess first aid needs for the workplace. This can change according to each industry, the amount of employees, specific hazards, the nature of the work being carried out and the environment​​

You may also need to consider:

​

• the needs of travelling, remote and lone workers

• the distribution of your workforce

• the remoteness of any of your sites from emergency medical services

• whether your employees work on shared or multi-occupancy sites

• first-aid provision for non-employees (eg members of the public).
